This office was appointed during December 2017 by Dr Rodney Howard-Browne to prepare a master plan incorporating architectural and landscape architectural plans for the headquarters of Revival Ministries International (RMI) at Tampa, Florida. The design was to be informed by the vision and work of Revival Ministries, that had been founded by Dr’s Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne. A schedule that clearly explained RMI’s spatial and operational requirements was provided by the ministry and formed the basis of the spatial planning and design of the RMI headquarters.
Whilst the headquarters should, in the first instance, serve the spiritual and material needs of the RMI global family, it should also be exemplary and should inspire qualitative urban development that would bear testimony to the work of Revival Ministries.
Furthermore, having regard for the global reach of RMI and the Southern African origin of RMI’s founders, it was required that the design should demonstrate an appropriate fusion between African architecture (especially Sub-Saharan) and the historic roots of the institutional architecture of the USA (inspired by Greek and Roman architecture). This fusion should also reflect the current architecture of modern USA (technology, light and modern materials).
